FUN THINGS TO DO AT HOME WITH THE KIDS

Words by ESL

At home with the kids on lockdown?  While recent events have got us spending a lot of time with the little ones, it’s important that we get to spend quality time with them! Did you know that children are highly intuitive? This means they can sense if something is wrong. While our days have been grim and gloomy, there are plenty of ways to lighten up the mood and keep the kids busy without having to hit the playground. Here are some fun activities you can try at home!

  1. Bath Time Bubbles – Going to the beach or the pool is no longer an option but you can always recreate the whole experience at home. Wondering how you can make bath time a whole lot of fun for your kids? Make sure to add some bath toys and lots of bubbles! We’re loving Little Twig Bubble Bath – a naturally formulated bubble bath that instantly creates soft foamy bubbles while being extra gentle on your baby’s skin.  It has no sulfates, dyes, parabens, and formulated only with non-toxic ingredients, essential vitamins and natural botanicals so you can be sure that it’s 100% safe! There’s plenty of delightful scents to choose from depending on your mood such as Happy Tangerine, Calming Lavender, Berry Pomegranate, and Unscented. Finish off with Little Twig Baby Lotion which makes your baby’s skin soft and keeps it well moisturized. This award-winning product is loved by moms and babies alike! It contains soothing aloe, chamomile, vitamins and natural essential oil fragrances perfect for a new born’s sensitive skin and even for the entire family!

  1. Keep Learning! – Just because classes are suspended doesn’t mean the kids have to stop learning. Choose from the many virtual classes or camps being offered online. Check out websites such as Outschool which offers free schooling resources, Kanopy for access to a library of entertainment and educational videos, and SkillShare if the kids are in the mood for something creative. If you have toddlers, you can have some story-time session by reading them books or make a sensory box for them to play with.  Here’s how!

  1. Arts and Crafts – You have to keep those creative juices flowing! It’s okay to get those little hands dirty once in a while to spark creativity with your kids. Why not do some  finger painting, baking, coloring, form things using playdough, or some DIY activities? Just make sure they wash their hands right after! Remember, handwashing is key in order to stay safe and well during these times. For soft, clean and refreshed hands, use Little Twig Foaming Hand Soap. Formulated with natural plant extracts, this creamy hand wash is gentle to the skin but still creates a rich foaming lather which leaves the hands feeling squeaky clean! Make sure to make the kids sing Happy Birthday thrice while they’re at it to make sure they get rid of all the germs.

  1. Clean and Declutter – It’s never too early to teach your kids how to clean. In fact, you should start them young so they would form the habit of cleaning up after themselves by tidying up their play station and returning toys to the cubby-hole. Make sure to sanitize all the toys and surfaces frequented by your kids. We recommend using Little Twig All Purpose Cleaner - a natural plant based surface cleaner that is both effective and safe. Since it contains no harsh chemicals or fumes, it is safe for kids to use them as well! Just make sure to keep an eye on them at all times. Its lemon scent will definitely make the room smell fresh!
